Read Galatians 4:12-5:15
The fruit of the Spirit:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self-Control
against such things there is no law
And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires
Galatians 5:22-24.
Over and over again Paul makes it clear that the good stuff we do is not produced by us. God uses us yet we do not produce it. The law will not produce self-control, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, kindness, peace, joy, or love. Those good things are the fruit of the Spirit working in our lives.
Paul reminds them they are children of a free woman not of a slave. He empowers them to stand firm. Not to stand firm in their opinions but in the gospel.
In this section of scripture just like the rest he tells us over and over again you are Forgiven therefore you are Free.
